Meet Eva · Founder & stylist
The Eva Story
My first salon was Grandma’s living room. Grandma was a hair stylist, and Grandpa was a barber. On any given afternoon there was somebody in the good chair by the window, a towel around their shoulders, and Grandma working away while she caught up on everybody’s week. I’d sit on the floor with a comb and a doll and copy every move she made.
My name is Eva, after my great-grandma Eva. I never got to meet her, but I grew up on the stories. She loved having her hair done, just like Grandma did, and she never went out the door without it perfect. I’m the same way.
Casa EVA Salon is named in honor of my great-grandma Eva.
Hair runs in our family. My brother is disabled, and for 29 years our dad, Darin, has been the one who cuts his hair, right at home, gently and with a lot of love. About ten years ago, Dad taught me how to cut, too. We’re all good at it in the family.
“That room taught me what a salon really is. It isn’t the mirrors or the fancy chairs. It’s how someone feels when they walk back out the door.”
When Grandma Pat got sick, she lost her hair. For a woman who spent her life making other people feel beautiful, it felt like losing a piece of herself. I’ve never forgotten that. It’s why there’s a private room here for anyone going through treatment.
I’m a licensed cosmetologist and esthetician, just getting started. But I’ve been training in that living room my whole life.
